Qualifications
It is recommended that only the degree requirement is listed as a basic requirement. All other required qualification can be put in 'Additional Qualifications'.
These qulaifications must be met at the time of start and must be verifiable. This field should only be used for qualifications that are non-negotiable by the start date. For maximum flexibility, consider moving most qualifications to 'Preferred'.
Preferred qualifications are skills that you'd like the candidate to have, but don't preclude them from being interviewed if they do not. Putting qualifications in this section offers the search committee greater flexibility in selecting candidates.
Selection Process
Outline the evaluation and selection criteria the committee will use to evaluate the applicants. These should be job-related and consistently applied to all applicants.
This box should be used to list the criteria you will use to determine if a candidate meets the minimum requirements.
Typically, the qualification list is used to make this decision.
Describe the steps the committee will use to evaluate the applicants in order to arrive at the finalist(s) e.g. inperson/phone/or Skype interviews, voting procedures (if applicable), etc. If reference letters are to be solicited via Contact Info Only, describe at what stage it will occur and for which applicants (shortlisted only, etc).
A shortlist of the candidates for interview will be submitted to the Dean's Office for approval.
